FAQ:

What brands do you buy?
Canon + Macintosh + Adobe = Amazing-ultimo-hawtness

What computers would you recommend?
Macintosh fo sho! Here is what we use.

Do you bring loads of backup gear?
YES! Weddings come along with enough stress for your clients as it is. The couple should have complete confidence in their photographer in that they will be able to photograph their most important day no matter what happens. Buy, rent, borrow, steal (not really) any and all backup gear you can get your hands on. You can never have enough.

Do you back up your photos?
Yes, we have multiple externals that we keep backed up at all times. We use Time Machine on our Macs to backup and keep two copies of our photo files on different hard drives. It's also a good idea to keep them at a different location.

Who designs your website?
Our main site was designed by and hosted by Bludomain and we built and edit our blog ourselves.

What printing labs do you use?
Our printing labs are WHCC, Renaissance, Forbeyon, and Simply Canvas.

Where do you buy your equipment?
We buy just about everything from BHPhoto and most of our computer nerd stuff comes from Tiger Direct or New Egg.

Jpeg vs RAW?
If you have the $$ to buy massive amounts of memory cards then RAW > everything! Best quality plus much more control over manipulation of lighting, color, and pretty much everything else. RAW also gives you a wider range of bringing back photos that may have been too far off to bring back in Jpeg.

Do you have photography degrees?
Nope! Both Tressie & Chad are entirely self taught and prefer it that way. We actually both have Biology degrees with Psychology minors...weird I know =)

How old are you?
Both Tressie & Chad are 24 and have been shooting since 2008.

I'm a beginning photographer. What should I buy?
Basically, in the photo world, you pay for what you get (if you buy from BH). If you don't have the cash to start out with a full frame like the 5D or D700 the we always recommend buying a lower end DSLR first and budgeting mostly for lenses. Camera bodies will constantly change, but a great lens will always be a great lens. Both Canon and Nikon offer cheaper lenses that will get you started but upgrade asap.

I'm a beginning photographer. Do I need contracts?
Absolutely! Everyone photographer needs proper documentation to protect themselves as well as their clients. Plus you want to be sure that your clients are okay with you putting their sessy faces on the internet. So we have made our contracts and client documentation available for any beginning photographers Right Here.
